Ring our main switchboard number on 0161 864 0200 to speak to one of our reception staff. Telephones are answered between 8am and 6pm. There is a stacking system for incoming calls when lines are busy. Please do not hang up if the ringing tone persists, your call is in the queue.

The new system for booking appointment is through our Econsult, this is done online or on a smart phone. If you have any problems or need anything please don’t hesitate to call 0161 864 0200.

All consultations are by Econsult. Appointments are available between 8.30am 5.45pm Monday to Friday. There are also appointments available for outside normal hours at one of several of the Hub’s in Trafford, you can book these by phoning or visiting our reception, these appointments are for weekends and late evenings. (please note that these appointments are not held at the Delamere medical practice but at one of the many hubs through out Trafford).

  • Urgent cases are those who are under 5 or classes as elderly. If you need an urgent appointment you may have to go to your nearest walk in centre.
  • Tell us if you are in a telephone box. We will ring you back. Say immediately if your call is an emergency.
  • Let us know if more than one person in the family needs to be seen. We need to make separate appointments for each member of the family. If you have more than one problem to discuss please book a two separate appointments so the GP has enough time to discuss your problems.
  • Tell us if you want someone to accompany you during an examination or a private room to discuss any matters. Remember that the results of tests can only be given to the patient.

You can help us by:

  • Being on time for your appointment
  • Letting us know if you need to cancel
  • Calling for a home visit before 10am
  • Ringing for the results of tests after between 11am and 1pm .
  • Wearing a facemask/ face covering to the surgery.
  • Staying at home if you have any cough, cold, flu or sickness.

Home visits

Our doctors typically see four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason, we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible. However, we can visit you at home if your condition means you cannot attend surgery or if you are a housebound patient. Please ring before 10am to arrange a visit and let us know if your condition is urgent.

If you need a doctor out of hours you will be asked to phone Mastercall and the duty doctor there will discuss the problem with you and will either ask you to attend the out of hours centre or arrange a home visit if appropriate.

Telephone Consultations

These are provided for patients who need to speak with their GP but do not necessarily need to come in for an appointment.

As these telephone consultations are limited your call may be triaged by the reception staff as to the best person to speak to. For instance it may be more appropriate for the local pharmacist or NHS direct to deal with your query and if so the reception staff will direct you to their service.

All our doctors do have telephone appointments that can be booked, a time slot will be given, and please give the best contact number to call you on. Please note that if a doctors clinic is running behind they will call you as close to the appointment time as possible.

The doctor will only call once and if you are not in you will need to rebook your call again with reception.

We do not have a facility to make calls to telephones with ‘anonymous call barring’

Specialist and hospital care

If a GP or another member of our health care team believes you need hospital treatment or specialist care elsewhere a referral letter will be prepared and sent electronically directly to the referral information centre. You will be sent the information you need to know about the referral centre and a telephone number for you to call to arrange your hospital appointment at a time convenient to you.

Repeat Prescriptions

If you require regular medication for an ongoing problem you can use the counterfoil from your computerized prescription to order a repeat or you can fill out the request forms located on our website. Please remember to request your repeat well before your medication runs out and allow a minimum of 3 working days for your new prescription to be prepared.

The local chemists run a collection and delivery service for repeat prescriptions. You can sign up for the scheme at the chemist.
All patients on regular medication should have a check up and medication review from time to time. A printed reminder on your computer slip will advise you when this is due.
To avoid dangerous mistakes we do not accept repeat prescription requests by telephone.
Please allow 72 hours for the practice to process you repeat prescription request.

The average pay for GPs working in Delamere Medical Practice in the last financial year was £48,058 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 1 full time GP, 6 part time GPs and 4  locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
